We thought it would be fun to create a list of 17 Things You Should Know About Darling.
We focus on building trust, and mutually beneficial, strategic relationships. Our primary goal is to meet your needs and deliver results. Our process starts off by building a solid foundation. We care about what you think, what you value, and where your company is headed in the next 5-10 years.
“The Art of Seduction” by Robert Greene is a company must-read. The title might sound like an erotic fantasy, but it’s actually about psychological triggers and the influence of sexuality when it comes to decision-making. The book gives examples of how sexuality was used by both men and women to cultivate and manipulate the most powerful dynasties throughout history.
We also love “Way of the Wolf” “Think and Grow Rich” and “The Four Agreements.”
In the beginning of Darling, sexism was a major barrier we had to overcome. Being told “You should be an escort” was the catalyst for the branding we have today. We love sexuality & femininity, and embraced this insult. We also try to be innovative, providing a different kind of experience while still achieving the great results you might see at other top tier agencies. (Hurricane Irma Disaster photoshoots)
We’re sweet and sassy. Known locally for our hard work, we just do things until they’re done and everybody is happy. They say “you can’t please everyone” and “not everyone is going to be your friend” – but we beg to differ. Our approach is very gentle and patient, yet lethal. We will always find a way to make things work out in everyone’s favor. Always. We have a strong background in customer service and marketing psychology.
We want things to be fair, balanced, and harmonious. Customer service at Darling is about listening to our clients wants and giving you what you want & need. We aim to over-deliver on every promise.
Darling has several power players behind the scenes. Our owner started her career in tech with a food blog that attracted acting opportunities in Hollywood. Her partner built his SEO knowledge under the mentorship of some of the top SEOs in the industry making over $1M monthly. We developed a portfolio of affiliate and e-commerce websites while living in Los Angeles prior to opening Darling in Miami Beach. We’ve also appeared in countless media outlets such as Huffington Post and the Associated Press.
We love jazz, especially Edith Piaf, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, and Dorothy Dandridge. We love speakeasy vibes, hot buttered rum, and art deco everything. I guess Miami is a fitting location for our headquarters…
There’s nothing less attractive than a chatterbox who can only make small talk. We care about results. We also care about feelings, so we’re gentle when delivering a blow. But seriously, it’s hard to get results when you’re not being honest about the situation at hand. We don’t take anything personally and expect to keep open lines of communication with all of our clients.
Basically, we’ll help you attract the right people. Entrepreneurship is like the jungle. Entrepreneurs go hunting every day, and only the strongest survive. In the wild, the strongest animals are the most highly sexualized and the weaker animals depend on them. In this sudo-wild society, we either learn to hunt or depend on someone to hunt for us. At Darling, we’re specialists at seducing your prey.
We got to be before 10pm, and get up around 5:30AM. Because we have clients across the Atlantic, we’re very active past normal business hours.
Subtle, soft, light, fluffy, delicate, and pink. That’s it. There won’t be any yelling, or cutting you off. No avoiding calls, or lying about the size of our d***s (DESKS, of course). We like to have fun, and keep it light with our clients. Of course we always remain professional and courteous.
Many amazing marketers don’t graduate college. Not a big deal, we’re not here to judge. Technology is evolving faster than college curriculums can keep up. Especially marketing technology and AI. But everyone on our team has a University degree. We’ve also studied in the US, Germany, France, and Ecuador collectively – in both University settings and SEO/Web Design mentor/mentee scenarios.
Our founder used to be an actress in Hollywood, and we travel there often for business. We hope to open a secondary location in LA in the coming years.
We like jogging, Bikram yoga, acai bowls, going to the beach, hiking, and throwing/attending parties.
We’re ridiculously good at selling Brazilian Butt Lifts. In Q1 of 2017, we sold nearly $1 million of plastic surgery (60% of that was BBLs)
They say you shouldn’t take life too seriously, but we disagree. Girls are expensive and girly girls have expensive upkeep. We like traveling, nice cars, good wine, and fashion. There’s nothing wrong with having preferences and standards. By having high standards for ourselves, we provide great service to our clients. Everybody wins and we’re alright with that.
Who doesn’t like to dress up and attend events. They make great opportunities to brand yourself amongst your biggest supporters and local peers. Growing up, our founder had elaborate birthday parties (horses, bounce houses, actors, etc). She created an international food fair at her University – basically a huge potluck between all the international colleges. It’s still held bi-annually on the campus. That being said, we don’t do drugs (just to make things clear, because we are in Miami).
Though our branding is innovative and sexy, we keep it real. We like to have fun, and we’re very lighthearted – but we value our reputation and maintaining relationships with our clients for a long time. We love interacting with our client’s children, and sending gifts. Our priority is getting your business results so you can finally stop looking for a solid marketing team, and focus on running the business. Beyond those very few priorities, everything we do (like blogging) is for your entertainment.
